Our Spirited Tour kicks off the 2024 season with a return to a brew pub that we visited in the Fall of 2021 before the idea of a blog sprang forth.
TIN BRIDGE BREWING
487 E Main St, Westfield, MA 01085

Tucked away at the rear corner of a shopping center parking lot is a stand-alone structure containing Tin Bridge Brewery (founded in 2014) and tap room. Being so far back from the road the oversize sign stands tall for those seeking out this destination. Apparently, the name relates to a nearby repurposed railroad trestle with a metal braced framework.

When we visited in the Fall of 2021, we were experiencing our first brew pub visit since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. That Fall day we were enjoying a taste of Indian summer and we sat outside in a covered patio area with several tables. On today's occasion we sat inside at one of the many picnic tables along one exterior wall. Opposite the seating area is the bar and taps.

There are several TV's mounted throughout the taproom and on this particular Sunday afternoon we were just in time to watch the NCAA's Women's Basketball Championship Game between Iowa and South Carolina. I chose to root for Iowa, the underdog, while Lisa and Kelley rooted for SC.
There was a small number of patrons when we first arrived and as the afternoon progressed the number steadily grew. It was generally a younger clientele including a young couple with a very small infant in a carrier seat at the next table.

Our first round consisted of -
A pint of Green Machine [a New England IPA] for me
Lisa had small Marshmallow Guava [an ale with flavors]
Kelley had a pint of Raspberry Banana [another variety of ale with flavors]

I was stuffed from lunch, but Lisa and Kelley, neither of whom had eaten yet, ordered from a food truck stationed there and both were pleased with what they had. I think I remember onion rings, French fries, chicken wings and a cheeseburger (although I may have gotten this wrong).
We had a lot of catching up to do, especially with the kids' lives progressing so rapidly. We also paid attention to the game between sips and comments. The mood in the pub was really happy with no one becoming loud or attention getting.
The beers were really good and for round two -
I had a pint of Clown Connected [another flavored New England IPA]
Lisa had a small Bubblez [an orange vanilla flavored hard cider]
Kelley had another pint of Raspberry Banana

The game played on and we chose another round -
I had another pint of Green Machine
Kelley stuck with Raspberry Banana
Lisa had water and was appointed our return driver.
I had to hit the head before we left for home shortly after the end of the game. I was impressed with the facilities and by the cleanliness of the men's room.
All in all a great afternoon.
